We join in praying for Br. Boniface Mariae (formerly known as Chris Grow) as he continues his postulancy. The postulancy is part of the discernment process in many religious orders. The process is 10 months, and is followed by the Novitiate. According to the CFRs website, "Postulancy is a ten month period of formation in preparation for Noviate, with a particular focus on spiritual, human, and apostolic formation. During this time the young man is given an introduction to the Friars life of prayer, as he is invited to enter more deeply into the Holy Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, silent meditation, and praying a Eucharist Holy Hour. This time is also a time to experience the gift of Franciscan brotherhood and experience what it is like to live and work in community. This period of formation is also a time to experience the various CFR apostolates in serving the materially poor and works of evangelization."
As Br. Boniface continues his postulancy, let us continue to pray for him. Chris Grow, as most of you may remember, was the Director of Faith Formation after Linda, so I am sure that our parishes have a special place in his heart, and of course, there is a something special about knowing someone who is going and giving their life to God. Let us continue to pray and give glory to God that we were part of his discernment process.
